Our Volunteers

Our Volunteers are at the heart of our charity – without them we wouldn’t exist.

Volunteers can provide transport to medical appointments, to local health centres or to hospitals such as Stracathro, Kincardine Community, ARI and Woodend. Transport is also available for social or family visits, health-related groups and to our own groups and events.

Our volunteers can choose to do grocery shopping and deliveries, or accompany a client to places such as supermarkets, chemists and post offices. Often, a volunteer helps the same person long term, building a strong bond with them.

Volunteers also support our groups and activities, helping with practical things like setting up, and interacting with the members.

Many of our volunteers are themselves in the older age bracket, and volunteering helps them combat social isolation, allows them to be involved in their local community, and gives them a chance to share their skills and knowledge with others.

We’re immensely grateful for all our volunteers do for us and the older people for whom Mearns & Coastal Healthy Living Network were set up to help.

If you’re interested in volunteering with us in any capacity, please contact us, or click either one of the buttons below to download an application form.
